ABOUT ARCANA FUTURA

Welcome to Arcana Futura, a family indie game studio.

Hi there! We're a small, tight-knit indie game studio, and we go by the name Arcana Futura. It all started with making Create Your Own Adventure type games what seems and really is ages ago, to cooking up intricate virtual worlds today. The goal has always been to not just build games, but build gaming experiences with vast worlds and gripping narratives, ones players would want to be a part of. And, perhaps even learn a thing or two along the way. We're a family affair, with Robert leading the charge and Sky turning drafts into stories. Welcome to our gaming haven!

Why "Arcana Futura"? The name mirrors the mix of passions and interests that fuel our games and ideas. In Latin, 'Arcana' translates to mystical, mysterious, secret, and hidden, while 'Futura' signifies the future. This choice encapsulates our fascination with sciences such as astronomy and marine biology, understanding the of importance of environment protection, as well as humanity's grand journey through ancient civilizations, enigmatic mysteries, psychology, and the perpetual quest for discovery.

Our primary mission is to tell compelling stories, and deliver the best possible gaming experiences which also mean something.

Our vision is to turn Arcana Futura into a full time game development studio.

Like any other type of projects, ours also start with an idea. It can be a fun idea, a topic that we believe deserves attention, a 'what if' moment, or something entirely unexpected. After a bit of research and if the idea is viable, the scope, technical and content requirements, and the general story drafts are written. A prototype and in depth research of the subject and all aspects of the project follow, and off we go.

Since games take a decent amount of time to make, even for large studios, to avoid burnout working on a single topic for 2-3 years, we currently work on two projects simultaniously. A large project (current large project is Project Sky) on which production starts first, and a smaller one (currently WhacAWorld) which starts after all the groundwork on the large project is done.
